It’s been all about GOLDEN CHILD as of lately for singer-songwriter Judith Hill. She dropped her sophomore album last month and followed it up with a stage play of the same name that performed earlier this month in Los Angeles.
Today, she dropped a new music video on her YouTube channel, but it’s not for any of her new songs. Instead, it’s for her song, “Back in Time;” the last track off her 2015 debut album of the same name.
Directed by Ravi Dhar and co-produced by Prince, the “Back in Time” music video was originally meant to be released in April 2016. Then, the inevitable happened when Prince suddenly passed away that same month at the age of 57. The music video is the final collaboration between him and Hill.
The release was canceled then, but as Hill wrote in the description for the video, “It’s time I let it have its place in the world.” The music video beautifully captures her jamming it out on a grand piano, accompanied by her soaring vocals, colored powder galore, and stunning shots of Hill in the rain and under water.
