Michael Pasquale Creates PRINCESS MONONOKE-Inspired STAR WARS REBELS Fan Art

Based on what I’ve seen on social media, for fans of STAR WARS REBELS, many have caught onto the recent elements incorporated into the show that are very much inspired by PRINCESS MONONOKE.

From the Loth-Wolves to the gray area between the Light and Dark Sides of the Force, Hayao Miyazaki’s 1997 film has definitely rubbed off on the aesthetic and storytelling in this sliver of the STAR WARS lore.

Yesterday, this fan art surfaced online:

Created by Michael Pasquale of 800 Pound Productions, this artwork very much acknowledges the similarities and inspirations drawn from PRINCESS MONONOKE. With Ezra staring outward with his lightsaber at hand and a Loth-Wolf in the background (accompanied by a Loth-Cat), all are posed exactly like how San and Moro are on the poster for the film.

It’s a fantastic homage to two wonderful works, despite the fact that we still don’t know a whole lot about the Loth-Wolves.
